At 2:00 pm today, an active low pressure area (ALPA) was estimated based on satellite and surface data at 340 kms west southwest of Iba, Zambales (14.0ºN 117.0ºE).

Central and Southern Luzon and Visayas will experience cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms becoming widespread rains over the western sections of Southern Luzon and Visayas including Palawan which may trigger flashfloods and landslides. Mindanao will have mostly cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms. The rest of Luzon will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms mostly in the afternoon or evening.
Moderate to strong winds blowing from the northeast will prevail over Northern Luzon and coming from the southwest over Southern Luzon and Visayas with moderate to rough seas. Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate blowing from the southwest with slight to moderate seas except during thunderstorms.
