DOST-PAGASA joins 2025 RSTW in Western Visayas
DOST-PAGASA joins the 2025 Regional Science, Technology, and Innovation Week (RSTW) in Roxas City, Capiz. This year’s celebration, which runs from September 10 to 12, 2025, highlights the theme, “Siyensya, Teknolohiya at Inobasyon: Kabalikat sa Matatag, Maginhawa, at Panatag na Kinabukasan.”
Present during the opening were DOST Secretary, Dr. Renato Solidum Jr.; Undersecretary for Regional Operations, Engr. Sancho A. Mabborang; DOST VI Regional Director, Engr. Rowen R. Gelonga, together with other DOST officials and local government representatives.
This year’s RSTW highlights the role of science, technology, and innovation (STI) in sustaining the economic growth, specifically in agriculture, fisheries, manufacturing, and other sectors where Western Visayas continues to thrive in. Interactive exhibits and knowledge-sharing sessions featured in this event showcases how STI can sustain this growth.
Visit our booths to see DOST-PAGASA’s featured technologies and innovations including automatic weather station, an interactive display, and the storm chaser vehicle equipped with a mobile upper-air ballooon. A mobile planetarium was also set up for exhibit-goers, students, and astronomy enthusiasts.
