DOST-PAGASA Addresses Unofficial Reports on Possible November “Super Typhoon”, Urges Public to Refer to Official Forecasts
The DOST-Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) is aware of numerous social media posts from unofficial and unverified sources circulating information about a westward-moving typhoon or super typhoon forecast to cross the central Philippines (Southern Luzon-Visayas area) around 5 to 7 November 2025, citing weather model predictions from online sources.
Clarifying the official outlook regarding the potential tropical cyclone activity in the Philippines in the next two weeks, the latest two-week Tropical Cyclone Threat Potential Forecast dated 26 October 2025 shows medium potential of a westward-moving tropical cyclone developing outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) during the week of 27 October - 02 November. This potential weather disturbance may eventually cross the central portion of the country during the following week (03-09 November). However, we would like to emphasize that since this forecast is still within the two-week range, there remains a high uncertainty in the specific details of the forecast, particularly regarding the exact path and intensity of the potential tropical cyclone. The two-week TC Threat Potential Forecast from DOST-PAGASA can be found at https://www.pagasa.dost.gov.ph/tropical-cyclone/tc-threat-potential-forecast.
The public is strongly advised to regularly monitor for official updates and advisories issued by DOST-PAGASA and refrain from using unverified information from unofficial sources, especially for purposes of disaster early preparedness activities.
